I am a 70-year-old woman, weighing 95 pounds. In September 2012 I bought a Tiger Bengal motor home fitted with a Nature's Head composting toilet. Since that time this has been my full-time home. In spite of my fears (What if I get urine in the solids chamber? How can I explain it to my guests? What will people think about my carrying a month's worth of waste along? Surely, it will smell bad!), I have found the composting toilet to work beautifully with no smell, even though I use it full-time and through the cold Washington winters. The only problem I have had was odor from the urine bottle when I took it out to dump it, but that has been easily solved by adding two cups of white vinegar to the bottle. I have to dump the bottle once every two or three days. Explaining the use of the toilet to my guests has turned out to be no problem, and I have never gotten urine into the composting chamber; the separation mechanism of the toilet is very well designed. If you use your Nature's Head in the winter, though, be sure to stock up on peat moss during the growing season before the stores run out; you may not be able to find any in the winter months! I am so pleased with this toilet that I plan to purchase another to put in my barn/workshop. Kathryn L., WA
I have never written to a company about a product even when it is awful but I can't keep quiet about yours. I don't think I have ever been as impressed with a product as I have been with your toilet. I have been building a log cabin for the last ten years. It is right in the middle of thirty acres of woods. The only Trees I cut were the ones I built the cabin with. Even though I have water and electricity there is no sewage and due to all the trees a septic system was out of the question so it was going to be an Enviorlet from day one. That was until I started reading the reviews. All the reviews were pretty good until odor was mentioned. One night I was googling and and your toilet was mentioned in a boaters forum. I read reviews for a week and the only thing I saw that was close to a negative was from a guy who said the pee bottle was to small when his wife and her friends decided to drink beer. So I took a chance and ordered yours. We have used it every weekend for six months and have never had an odor issue. Not even while using it. The only thing that equals your product is your customer service. My plan is to add on next summer and I will be purchasing another toilet from you for sure. Thank you for a truly great product and a customer service dept. that has no equal. Tom S., Mississippi
We have enjoyed the Natures Head for several weeks as a couple and about 10 days with our daughter and son-in-law aboard and we are all very happy. We expected to like the composting head, but we did not realize how much drier the boat would be without the hoses, the toilet, and the pumping fixtures. Even after significant rain, the boat is drier and dries much faster. The mushroom vent is perfect and the fan is quiet and not noticed by any of us. Sam and Karen H.
Congratulations...we have tried every composting toilet out there in our 30-odd years of living without a septic system...and Nature's Head is absolutely the best there is...and almost half the price of some others! Jan J.
... a big thank you from us. I will continue spreading the good word about your great product. We belong to a good size club and many members have camps similar to the one we have with the old outhouse the only means of relief from natures call. One of the best parts of the deal is we make it in the USA and the people that make it stand behind it. Jake T., Pennsylvania
I just completed a 2 month cruise to Key West, Bimini, and back to Alabama . No head regulation hassles, no smells, 20 gal extra fuel tank in place of holding tank came in very handy. When I changed out the peat moss in the Keys it smelled like potting soil. Very happy. Thanks again. Michael H., Alabama
I have had my Nature's Head installed on my boat for a couple of years now, and am extremely happy with it. NO smell, even at the outside vent all I can smell is peat moss. The composting action is very good. (separating the urine is the key to proper composting) It is also very gratifying to listen to my neighbors in the marina complain about their holding tanks, pump flush toilets....and one guy who's fancy vacuum flush y valves failed on a week long trip! Nothing to go wrong with the Nature's Head...I love it! Peter C. British Columbia
My toilet has been operational for over a month and works perfectly..hold it to your nose and almost smells like a rose!! It is installed in my cabin which is off the grid. For ventilation, I have the original fan powered by the transformer to the gas powered electric wired system and most times it is vented by a solar vent fan on the end of the vertical stink pipe. Everyone who sees it marvels at its small footpath...Thanks for a great system. Steven D.
I received my composting toilet in early July and have been using it since then. I am very happy with my purchase. Although I had strong doubts, it performs as advertised if not better. I really still can't believe how the unit, whether in use or not, simply does not emit the expected odors. It just doesn't. Once in a while I'm aware of the peat moss smell which is negligible. The Installation Manual and User's Guide is a well written and practical little book and not some cumbersome foldout in seven different languages. I'm using the head as a full time user in my workshop (where I practically live) and where plumbing a conventional toilet would have been cost prohibitive and likely unpermitted. By the end of the year I will have saved hundreds of gallons of water by not using a flush toilet and generated some serious compost for the garden. The unit therefore is quite impressive regarding sustainable/renwable, enviromental realities - a product that I need and can really feel good about as well. Thanks a million. Rufus A.
I just wanted to thank you for a fantastic product. My wife and I are thrilled and look forward to a winter of no pump-outs!! Simple to install, use and maintain. Delivery was quick and easy as well. We recommend it to anyone trying to decide. Dan S.
What a great toilet! Fantastic design: really well thought out. And Customer Support is excellent - Larry is always available to answer questions and make suggestions. We've installed our Nature's Head in our house and have used it full time for about 6 weeks now. It's working great and it's a pleasure to avoid using water for flushing - plus, no smell. Easy to use, easy to keep clean. One caution: Don't let the urine container get too full - empty it early rather than too late, or it will backflow into the compost container and make it smell. Solution: add more dry peat moss or empty it out and start again. Anyway, overall grade: A++. We love it! A.G.
Wow!!...Thanks Larry. I live 275 feet above the water table, so i am running rain catch (solar sky well). The Nature's Head kept my system to grey water only, a two fold plus for water conservation, and a clean cost effective install. The Nature's Head is very well built and designed. I love this toilet, it saved me from a life of wasting a days worth of perfectly good drinking water with every guilt ridden flush. Thanks to the whole team behind the Nature's Head.
