The Nature's Head composting toilet is the most economical, environmentally friendly, way to process your toilet wastes when you have no sewer or septic system, or in areas of water shortage, or if you want to reduce your ecological footprint.

This composting toilet is completely self-contained, and can safely be used in places where traditional flush toilets are impractical, where there is no water or sewer service.  Because Nature's Head Composting Toilets were designed for the harshest of conditions, they will stand up to years of trouble free service.

No Odors!

Because our toilet separates the liquids from the solids it doesn’t smell bad. It’s when you mix the urine and the solids that you get the really bad odors associated with sewage. When working properly the toilet will have a slight earthy smell when open.  The longer you let a composting toilet sit, the better it will smell when it’s time to empty it.

High Capacity!

Because the liquids are not mixed with the solid wastes you get an exceptional amount of uses before you need to empty the unit. For example; for weekend use only, a couple may go an entire summer without having to empty the solid’s tank. The front liquid tank is approximately 2.2 gallons and will need to be emptied more frequently.

No Plumbing, No Water!

Nature's Head is a "dry toilet." This is because it uses no water for flushing. That means no plumbing to attach. no need for external water source to flush (yes you can use it when on the hard), and no thru-hull required.

No Parts to Replace!

Goodbye time, inconvenience, and cost of replacing flush levers, flapper valves, float valves, float balls, and even toilet seats!

Economical!

Out toilet is very economical to operate; there are NO chemicals to provision. Two gallons of peat moss is all it takes. Alternative sources of composting enhancers are sawdust, or dried leaves.

Easy Installation!

Easy to install; the unit attaches to the floor with two small l brackets. There is one ventilation hose to run outside and one 12volt power hook-up for a small computer type fan. Or run completely powerless by running the vent hose to a solar vent.  What you don't need: plumbers, permits, inspections.

Easy Empty!

When it’s time to empty your toilet simply flip the two latches on the sides and lift the upper section up a few inches. Put the lid on the liquid bottle and lift it out of its holder. To empty the main tank un-hook the 12 volt power connector and the vent hose and then slide the upper section off its open ended hinge. Undo the 2 thumb screws on the base and it’s ready to empty. Because there are no liquids in the main tank, even full it is never heavy. The unit is sized so that a kitchen garbage bag will go over the end of the main tank. Simply flip it over and you’re done. There is no need to clean the tank when you empty it, any left-over matter will help start the composting process all over again.

What Customers Say

I built a freestanding building to house the composting toilet.  I installed the solar room vent and hooked up a solar panel to the battery that runs the tank exhaust.  I run horse camps at my farm and have placed the unit just a few feet from the lake so it's accessible to campers and swimmers alike.  EVERYONE loves it! ... If ya gotta go ... go green!!

We live in Hawai'i.  We have tried Biolet and Sunmar toilets and were disappointed and so returned them - being told that it was our location that was a problem.  Your toilet works perfectly.  There are a lot of people living off the grid that could benefit from this product.

I just wanted to tell you how pleased we are with the Nature's Head toilet we purchased … My wife and I have owned the Nature's Head toilet for over 2 years. We use it in our off-grid house on the Big Island of Hawaii. After researching toilets on the web, we chose the Nature's Head due to design (liquid and solids being separated) and price. I was also very happy with the size of the toilet- it's much more compact compared to others, and it's the only one that can be shipped through regular USPS mail. When shipping to Hawaii (or other out of the way places), this alone saves over $150 compared to the others.

We're on solar and water catchment exclusively, so power and water consumption were also concerns. This made installing a septic tank even less desirable. And regarding power; even without the fan running most of the time, the Nature's Head toilet does an admirable job of decomposing waste.

With some peat moss added to the solids tank, there are never any unpleasant odors. After using the Nature's Head composting toilet for the last couple of years, we'd never go back to standard flush toilet. Composting is environmentally friendly and much more economical. And the Nature's Head is the best toilet out there!

Thanks for offering such a great and unique product and I wish you continued success.
